3 October - 25 November 2005 - Epidemiology course (French)

This eight-week course is being conducted for the first time in French, with six participants attending from the Democratic Republic of Congo. In future, it is hoped to alternate the English and French versions of this popular course.

19 - 30 September 2005 - Laboratory technicians course (French)

This two-week course deals with advanced laboratory techniques and especially targeted to participants from the Democratic republic of Congo. The course is taught in French.

18 - 29 July 2005 - Quantitative Risk Analysis: An Introduction

This two-week course introduced the candidates to quantitative risk analysis in veterinary epidemiology, more specifically the import risk analysis for animals and animal products. The course is based on real-life examples and makes extensive use of the freeware program R to carry out the simulations and calculations.

Eligibility:

Participants will normally be expected to hold a degree and at least 3 years of working experience in the relevant field.

Eligibility:

  • Senior State Veterinarians from the field, Laboratory and Epidemiology Units
  • Animal Production Scientists
  • Veterinarians
  • Researchers and
  • All those involved in the planning and execution of animal production and health programmes.

Participants will normally be expected to hold a degree and at least 3 years of working experience in the relevant field. 

Livestock Economics (Disease Control)
